For us, MCA has been a blessing since we first "discovered" it, as we drove down 144 and there was a sign out in front of Springhill Christian Church. In our search for an elementary school we wanted two things: Christian viewpoint which was faith based and excellent academic standards. We feel fortunate to have found both at MCA. Our eldest daughter, Megan, began school at MCA in 1st grade and is now a junior at Covenant Christian School. We credit MCA with directing her to a Christian High School. Our youngest, Hannah, is a 3rd grader at MCA. It is a blessing that our children do not separate "school" from their faith—unlike the experience that both Mark and myself had as we grew up in small towns and went to public schools. We have experienced much change at MCA during our time here—the building of a completely new school, changes in leadership over time, development of additional programs which strengthens the curriculum. When all is said and done, we continue to feel that our children's needs are being met with a caring faculty, a safe and secure property, adequate facilities, growing programs, thoughtful and proficient administration. And we continue to receive that which we originally sought: Christian viewpoint which is faith based and excellent academic standards. We feel very blessed!

Carl and I decided before we ever had children that we wanted Christian education for them. We wanted what they were learning at school to line up with what they were being taught at home. As Christians, Christ should be a part of every aspect of our lives. At MCA ,God is the center of every part of our girls’ day. They learn the truth about history, and God is in math and story problems. He is the center of science and health, and what they learn is backed up with scripture. Their days include prayer and Bible teaching. Scripture is the authority that is used for decision-making issues. Our children are taught absolute truth and that He is God. I don't have to worry when I send my kids off to school if their faith will be undermined, instead I know it will be strengthened. As a parent, I have to ask myself what is my ultimate goal for my children. For Carl and I, our ultimate goal is that our girls love God first and desire to serve and glorify him with their lives. Can MCA partner with me in accomplishing this goal? Absolutely! If this is your goal for your child, MCA can partner with you, too.

Our children are the future, which is why our family continues to choose Christian Education for our children. Our desire is that Christ’s teachings and the Bible become so much a part of our children’s lives that it is the rule rather than the exception. At a Christian school, our children learn how to function as a body of Christ on a daily basis. They learn to pray for one another, to share in each other’s grief as well as joy, and to praise God without fear of retribution. Can we teach this at home and through our church? Yes, but what a blessing to have the reinforcement of an army of teachers, staff, and students that reinforce those same teachings. Christ is truly the center of our children’s daily lives. We are very proud to be a part of Mooresville Christian Academy. Not only do our children benefit from the educational and spiritual development, as parents we reap the benefits of Christian education. The fellowship between parents, teachers, and staff are but one more body of Christ that our family is able to experience. Although we struggle financially, God continues to meet our needs and someday when our girls are on their own in the secular world, our prayer is that the teachings they have received at MCA, home, and church will empower them to be strong and powerful witnesses for Christ. They are the future and the future holds such amazing grace. Praise be to God!

As a second year school board member at MCA, I have two daughters attending the school. Bethany is a 5th grader and has attended MCA since kindergarten; she was part of the first kindergarten class in this current facility. Emily is attending half-day kindergarten, and she is so excited to be attending school. MCA has exceeded my expectations for my daughters’ education. Bethany and Emily receive a Christ-centered education where they are immersed in biblical teachings each and every day. MCA not only offers an excellent “book” education, but also offers the in-depth teaching & training in the word of God is a continuation of what our children see at home and are taught at church. When I look over MCA’s student Stanford Achievement Test scores from 2004-2005, it only reinforces my belief in MCA’s teachers and curriculum. Each and every grade level tested at least one grade level ahead and some grades tested out three or four grade levels ahead. I truly believe our Christ-centered education is superior to that of the public schools. My personal hope for MCA is that each and every child will be saved by the grace of Jesus Christ. That each child will share their “Christian education” with their family, friends, and neighbors and that God will work through them to save others.
