Each year in music class, students learn basic music theory which is expanded each year. Each grade level will also learn various Scripture songs throughout the year. They will have an opportunity to listen to different classical music selections, and study different composers' lives. At least one instrument from each family of instruments is studied. In third grade the flutophone is played, and the recorder is played in fourth grade. The main idea emphasized is that God made music. The fourth and fifth grades go to the Discovery concert at Hilbert Circle Theatre each spring.
