Silent and Live Auction Guidelines
General Policy
Mooresville Christian Academy has made its best effort to verify that all items are genuine, but makes no representations with respect thereto, and is not responsible for any warranties, expressed or implied, with respect to items purchased at Mooresville Christian Academy Auction. The successful bidder agrees to the foregoing and further agrees to only look to the donor for the satisfaction of such warranties. We thank you for supporting MCA.
General Rules
The items, for which you have been the successful bidder, are donated. There will be no exchanges or refunds. All auction items must be removed at the end of the auction. The school is not responsible for items left after this time.
Failure for whatever cause to arrange for the trip, meal, party, any item or service, etc. within the time limit according to the specified conditions imposes no obligation on the donor or Mooresville Christian Academy for a refund. All items of this auction are sold “as is,” “where is.” No warranties expressed or implied. Unless otherwise stated, there are no duplicates available for the same items.
Auction Rules
All payments must be made in full, at the check out table, by cash or check. Payment for silent and live auctions may be made together in one payment. Accepted payment includes: cash, check, cashier’s check or money order.
Silent Auction Rules
Persons desiring to bid on silent auction items may do so as many times as they wish on each item by writing their bid number and new bid amounts below the previous bidder on the item’s bid sheet. A valid bid consists of the bidder number, bidder name/signature and a whole dollar amount. The signature on the bid sheet is binding.
Please be considerate and do not block others from bidding. After the silent auction is closed, bid sheets will be collected. You may confer with the check out table, after that time, to verify the winning bidder on each item. The winning bidder is the last name and the highest amount on each item’s bid sheet.
Live Auction Rules
Item Donations
The donated items being auctioned tonight are valued and recorded at fair market value, as reported by the donor.
Purchase Price Exceeding Retail Value
If the winning bid exceeds the retail value of the item purchased, then the differential is considered a tax-deductible donation. MCA will provide donation receipts to any winning bidder upon request. Please stop by the check out table before leaving the auction.
Tax-Deductibility Questions
If you have any questions following tonight’s auction regarding the tax-deductibility of any donation, please seek your professional tax advisor.
